Tracking Fault Codes

How Drafft captures fault codes from telematics and how to manage them in the dashboard.

Drafft syncs fault codes (DTCs) directly from your telematics provider. When a fault appears on a vehicle's ECM, it shows up in Drafft within minutes — no manual data entry needed.

Fault severity levels

| Severity | Color | Meaning | |----------|-------|---------| | Critical | Red | Requires immediate attention. Risk of breakdown or damage. | | Warning | Amber | Monitor closely. Service needed soon. | | Info | Blue | Informational. No immediate action required. |

Viewing active faults

Go to Maintenance → Faults to see all open fault codes across the fleet. Each row shows:

  • Vehicle unit number
  • Fault code (e.g., P0191) and description
  • First seen date
  • Severity

Click any fault to open the detail drawer with the full fault description and recommended action from the fault code database.

Resolving a fault

When a fault has been addressed, click Mark Resolved in the detail drawer. The fault moves to history and is no longer counted in your active fault totals. If the same fault reappears after resolution, it opens as a new record.

PTI (Pre-Trip Inspection) faults

If your drivers use the Drafft mobile app or telematics-based PTI, failed inspection items appear as faults tagged PTI. These follow the same severity workflow.

Fault alerts

Configure fault alerts in Settings → Alerts to receive a Telegram or email notification when a critical or warning fault appears. You can set a minimum severity threshold so you only get alerted for what matters.
